Icarus Comes Close To Successful Enrollment On Healthcare.gov

Hey, where did that girl go?

Hey, where did that girl go?

Icarus came incredibly close to successfully enrolling in the federal health insurance marketplace using the website, healthcare.gov. Icarus spent hours hunched over a laptop he borrowed from his father, entering information to determine what coverage he would best qualified for. Under the Affordable Care Act, Icarus’s use of a wax prosthetic can no longer count against him as a preexisting condition. He was excited that for the first time he will be able to afford insurance of his own. Icarus had hoped that the savings in healthcare costs might allow him to move out of the basement of his parents’ Crete Street home. His enthusiasm evaporated when he clicked the final Enroll button. The website crashed. “My father warned me not to use the site, with all of its glitches,” said Icarus. “I’d have been better off phoning this one in.”

Daedalus knew where to go. Icarus should have followed his example.
