Pandora has stated that she is handing out gift cards this holiday season. She hopes to alleviate any anxiety to friends and family by presenting them with something that does not require a box.
The decision comes after the party planning committee of Pandora’s employer canceled this year’s Secret Santa over the concerns of coworkers. “Let’s face it, no one wants to open a gift from me,” says Pandora. “Everyone looks at me as though I’m asking them to unwrap the apocalypse. Even my own mother hits me with, ‘Oh sweetie, you shouldn’t have.’ I’m like, ‘Ma it’s a sweater.'”
lol… poor Pandora… you know I never got the deal with the hope thing for the longest time… but I’ve read a lot of books that refer to that and point out that hope can be just as evil… because it keeps us believing that something will save us when there really is nothing out there too… and that hope then is just a twisted deviant thing… and I’m like I can see that… but I’d still rather there be hope than none…
For Christmas, hope is what’s wrapped around the present. Cheers!
I definitely prefer a world full of hope… and Christmas is the best time because of it…
Brilliant. Great human story crossed with the myth. Thank you. :o)
Thanks, Erika. BTW there’s a copy of One More Day that’s traveling around that I want you to sign. You’ll know it when you see it.
But so accurate. Gift cards might not be personal, but at least the receiver doesn’t have to pretend they like your gift. Ak. I want to be Pandora. 🙂
I never roll my eyes at cash!
Chuckle.
Glad to make you smile. Cheers!
