Submissions

What type of submissions are we looking for? We primarily publish satirical, modern-day news articles that feature characters and items from classical fairytale and folklore as the main subjects, but we will consider other classical elements within the public domain, i.e. Ebenezer Scrooge, Elizabeth Bennet, and Sherlock Holmes. We recommend looking at past articles to get a better idea of what we publish. Article length should range from one hundred to five hundred words long. NO images. Submissions will be considered for YouTube videos and the podcast. We cannot compensate you for your work. Submission does not guarantee publication.

If we decide we like what you’ve done, there are a few steps to take before any publication takes place.

SUBMISSION ACCEPTED:
You will receive an email with the phrase, “SUBMISSION ACCEPTED” in the subject line. This email will notify you of your article’s acceptance, and if it is deemed necessary, any editorial concerns that need to be addressed prior to publication. You will also be asked to supply information for our contributors listing.

LAYOUT PROOF:
After any and all editorial concerns are addressed, you will receive an email with the phrase, “LAYOUT PROOF” in the subject line. This email will contain a proof of what your post will look like in layout. It is NOT a live post. NO articles will be published until you, the author, have given approval of the proof.

ARTICLE POSTED:
After you have approved the layout proof, you will receive an email with the phrase, “ARTICLE POSTED” in the subject line. This means that your article has posted. Now the whole world can see what you’ve done.

You got all that? Good! Then go ahead. Polish off that Pulitzer Prize winning proposal and send it in. Make sure to write, “Submission” in the subject line. Use only characters within the public domain. NO exclusive Disney properties!
